Good question. It varies country by country obviously, and many Europeans have their own shady histories as colonists which they don't always do the best at documenting. Even Japan, which looks all cute and cuddly, has orchestrated a host of atrocities which you won't find in any textbooks. But to answer your question, at least from my experience living in Europe and Asia, most people know our history better than we do (at least the not-so-great parts). Not even our old history either; a lot of it is fairly recent (arms deals, installing dictators, etc.).
